Bushes Bunches is a family owned business that opened in 1954, when Alaska was still a territory. Statehood was realized in 1959. At that time, all operations were under one umbrella. Around 1988 the business split into two different branches: Bushes Bunches Gardens (flowers, shrubs, berry plants) and Bushes Bunches Produce Stand, (most table vegetables, primarily squash and potatoes). Bruce Bush is the farmer that developed and named the "Peanut Potato."
Both entities are still operated by Bush family members, and both businesses are thriving. They enjoy a loyal customer
base which is growing every day. The produce is ALL Alaska Grown. At our produce location, we have two small
fields located behind our produce store. Many of the vegetables are picked each morning before the store opens. Others are
picked the day before.
It doesn't get much fresher than that!
Bushes Bunches Produce is a participant in the Senior Coupons and the WIC (Women, Infants and Children) coupons. We will also happily take credit cards and cash. We are not set up for debit cards.
You are welcome to stop by and peruse the beautiful vegetables, talk to the farmer, and maybe even purchase some for your lunch or evening meal!
